Bougatsa wars

Bougatsa is everywhere in Thessaloniki, with healthy debate as to which one is the best. There are plenty to try and there are no two same lists on where to find them all. Perhaps the fun in this is going to be in your own search for the best bougatsa, but perhaps the most-respected and well-known is Bantis, with Anoteron also frequently cited by foodies. Given its fairly central location, though, Giannis is probably the best spot to check first.
